Laurie Usken’s art is a Classical Old World approach to painting. Slowly she draws the viewer in with the elements of color, stroke work, and light. The eye is caught and lingers through each piece with interest and delight. Laurie lives in Fort Collins with her husband and has two grown sons. Interested in art and creating from an early age, she has pursued pain
ting with a passion. Still Lifes and figurative drawing are her focus. She has studied at the Art Students League of Denver, the Loveland Academy of Fine Art, The Colorado Academy of Art, and Colorado State University. Laurie is a member of the American Impressionist Society, The Glenwood Springs Art Guild and Colorado Coalition of Art. She has received multiple awards and mention. She has pieces in private collection in Texas, Minnesota, California and Colorado. She is represented in Denver at the Collection.
